Which Cruise Lines Have An Around the World Cruise in 2024?
In 2024 there are the usual suspects of world cruise offerings. There are three cruise lines offering up two world cruise adventures each, those being Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, and Viking. The new additions to 2024 is Royal Caribbean International offering a massive 274 night World Cruise for their first round-the-world adventure.
There is a nice mix of world cruises offered at every level of cruising. For mainstream lines Costa, MSC, P&O, and Royal Caribbean each have an itinerary on offer; for premium lines there are world cruises from Cunard, Fred. Olsen, Holland America Line, and Princess; within the luxury market there are offerings from Oceania and Viking and ultra-luxury is represented by Regent Seven Seas and Seabourn.
Excitingly, Crystal Cruises is back in the mix. After suffering from bankruptcy following the pandemic, they have come back and will be having a 2024 World Cruise. Crystal Cruises used to regularly offer around the world cruises.

While the price tag on these 2024 luxury world cruises are higher than mainstream and premium cruise lines, they also tend to include more within that price tag. Many of these lines include gratuities, drinks packages, and sometimes even shore excursions.

How Much Does an Around the World Cruise in 2024 Cost?
Around the World Cruises in 2024 have a pretty big range in price, both for the full cruise but also price per day. You can’t compare all of these cruises as apples to apples though. Some of these cruises will include things like shore excursions, drinks packages, internet, laundry services, even onboard medical expenses where as others the price listed doesn’t include things like the port fees or any gratuities. So when comparing how much an around the world cruise costs – it’s important to take into account how long the cruise is but also what’s included in that fare.
Some of these cruise ships are suite-only ships, meaning every stateroom on the ship is a suite – most often having a verandah as well. Comparing the cost of a 100+ night world cruise in an inside stateroom versus a suite – you would expect there to be a significant price difference.
Also, included in this list are mainstream, premium, luxury, and ultra-luxury lines. To put it into hotel terms – do you expect to pay the same or have the same service between a Holiday Inn and the Four Seasons? Again, not comparing apples to apples and to some extent you get what you pay for. Regardless though, each cruise will provide an unbelievable chance to experience the world on some unbelievable itineraries.

Where Do World Cruises Go?
It may be simple enough to think “a world cruise goes around the world”. However, each world cruise has a different itinerary. Some have similarities, but they’re each unique in their own ways. The common denominator amongst world cruises though is that they are longer than average voyages. These around the world cruises are all at least three months long and explore multiple continents – with most world cruises 2024 stopping in ports on at least three continents.
Common stops on World Cruises are places like Hawaii, Sydney, Singapore, Tahiti, and sailing through the Suez Canal. There are some less common stops as well in places like Greenland, Cape Town, Japan, Alaska, the Amazon River, and China.

Which World Cruises in 2024 Go All the Way Around The World?
Ironically or interestingly – whichever way you want to put it – not all world cruises go all the way around the world. A cruise line can decide to call whatever they’d like a World Cruise. Technically they could call a one-week cruise to the Caribbean a “World Cruise”, but I imagine they’d have some very confused and unhappy guests. Calling it a World Cruise (some call it a “World Tour”) doesn’t necessarily mean that they go all around the world, just that it’s something special for the cruise line. Some of these are more like grand voyages as they don’t really explore the whole world. Some of these offer a full circumnavigation, some of them offer a near full circumnavigation, and some of them explore a few regions very in-depth or circle an ocean (and those continents surrounding it) instead of the world.
Around the World Cruises in 2024 Offering a Full Circumnavigation

Crystal Cruises | Miami, Florida |
Costa Cruises | Trieste, Italy to Marghera, Italy |
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines | Southampton, England |
Holland America | Fort Lauderdale, Florida |
P&O cruises | Southampton, England |
Princess | Los Angeles, California |
Princess | Auckland, New Zealand/ Sydney, Australia |
Regent Seven Seas | Miami, Florida Roundtrip |
Royal Caribbean | Miami, Florida |
When Do Around the World Cruises Sail?
Nearly all World Cruises set sail in January. There are a few reasons for World Cruises to sail over the northern hemisphere winter. The first is when guests would want to be away for months. Most guests from the northern hemisphere do not want to miss their entire summer vacation being on a cruise ship. They would much rather avoid the winter months and explore the world while their hometown is a frozen tundra.
Also, guests are less likely to want to be away for the entirety of the fall – as it would take them from September all the way through the holidays. That’s a lot to miss at home.
The next is when it makes sense for the cruise lines. The cruise lines don’t want one ship to be in use with one set of passengers during their busy seasons. The spring is usually the least busy time for cruise lines so it makes sense to send a ship out for a world cruise in the spring.
The one cruise that goes out during the northern hemisphere summer on Princess Cruises leaves from Australia – during the southern hemisphere winter. This is to reach those world cruise guests from Australia and Oceania.
